Who Are We
The Earth Elements Design Center supplies high-end custom home interior finishes to the building industry. We are the complete one-stop shop for Appliances, Cabinetry, Doors and Door Hardware, Lighting, Slab, Tile, and Wood Flooring. We currently have three physical Showroom locations throughout the North-West Region. Our business is now rapidly expanding across North America and the Caribbean with our proprietary state-of-the-art software solution. The Job
  • The Product Specialist is a sales-driven, client-focused professional responsible for developing and growing relationships with new and existing customers to increase sales of products and services. This role combines strong product expertise with proactive prospecting, effective client qualification, consistent follow-up, and the ability to confidently guide clients from initial conversation through selection, quoting, ordering, and project completion. The Product Specialist performs activities associated with selling, client selections, design, ordering, and overall management of a specialized department that requires knowledge of a specialized nature.
  • Proactively welcoming and engaging clients through conversation and effective questioning to identify needs, qualify opportunities, and determine next steps
  • Providing clients with excellent customer service while building trusted relationships and creating opportunities for repeat and referral business
  • Providing product knowledge to customers by confidently communicating the features, values, benefits, and appropriate applications of each product
  • Maintaining strong showroom product knowledge and collaborating with other department colleagues to identify and recommend additional items or services for customers
  • Assisting homeowners and/or trade clients with design needs based on individual project requirements, while guiding selections toward solutions that meet client needs and support sales goals
  • Actively identifying and qualifying leads, managing prospects through the sales pipeline, and acquiring new business
  • Completing scheduled and cold-call prospecting activities to establish first and follow-up appointments with customer decision makers; maintaining consistent follow-up until opportunities are won, lost, or otherwise resolved
  • Understanding/Reading Architectural Plans
  • Creating accurate estimates for materials and install, meeting bid deadlines, and following up on outstanding quotes to advance sales opportunities
  • Tracking and maintaining job opportunities, client activity, next steps, and follow-up commitments via Elements software
  • Using Computer Programs to include Outlook, Elements, Bluebeam, 2020, AutoCad, and other programs specified to the department
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current trends, markets, competitors, and product lines to support confident and consultative selling
  • Following up with customers for A/R
  • Working closely with accounting and informing accounting on status of projects for correct invoicing
  • Participating in local activities as required (i.e. Home Show, Parade of Homes, others) to represent the company, build relationships, and generate sales opportunities
  • Participating in own professional development with emphasis on product expertise, sales effectiveness, and relationship-building skills
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Participating in opening and closing procedures
  • Answering phones and directing calls appropriately
  • Ordering and labeling samples; integrating new items into the showroom & discarding discontinued items.
  • Keeping showroom and sample towers organized

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for new Product Specialists within the department.
  • This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, etc. Primarily inside in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas, but can at times be outside in external environments.
  • This is a sedentary role; however, applicants must be able to lift and move samples up to 50 pounds. Applicants must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and finger dexterity.
  • This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Overtime may be requested occasionally.
  • Travel is primarily local, up to 1 hour driving distance during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, per insurance eligibility requirements.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Design preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ successful sales experience required, with demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify opportunities, follow up consistently, and close business
  • Experience in relationship-based, consultative, or business development sales required; experience within the building, design, or architecture industry preferred
  • Knowledge of product areas and lines preferred; ability and motivation to quickly develop expert-level product knowledge required
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication, client qualification, follow-up, organizational, Math, and English skills
  • Clean driving record, able to meet insurability qualifications
